New version - best-selling Pulsar APX vaporizer
As vaporizer technology matures year on year, enthusiasts and newcomers within the scene are presented with better and better options for their hard earned dollars. However, even with advancements that cut costs while stacking new features on the latest models, one could expect to pay $100+ for a well-made and feature rich vaporizer. Instead, Pulsar has shattered that price barrier while still serving up what is one of the most portable and easy to use vapes in recent times. At just under $70 their APX dry herb vaporizer will give even some of the more expensive top-tier vapes a run for their money. Let's find out why.
The Pulsar APX
The APX is a portable convection style vaporizer housed in a discreet form-factor spanning only 4” at its maximum length. Pulsar have gone the extra mile on the exterior design of this unit. Due to its small size, the APX vape can easily pass for a lighter, too, something those who prioritize stealthiness will find useful when on-the-go.
True Convection Heating
Your material is heated in a ceramic chamber through convection, resulting in no burnt or uneven spots to spoil its flavor. Leftover herb removed from the device after use confirms the lack of combustion with a consistent light brown hue.
Portability Yet Capacity To Spare
Despite the portable size of the APX , Pulsar have still managed to pack in a hefty 1600mAh battery that gives up to 1.5 - 2 hours of use. Depending on the heat level you prefer this can allow 10-12 sessions before needing to be recharged. The initial charge time recommended in the manual is 3 hours, but subsequent charges only take about half that. One downside of the battery, however, is that it's not replaceable.
Using The Pulsar APX
Operating the APX is like most vaporizers. Unscrew the mouthpiece, then loosely pack in your herb about only half full (the chamber holds up to 0.35 gram) to aid in airflow. Replace the mouthpiece and then quickly press the power button 5 times. You can change the temperature at this point by holding the power button for 3 seconds. There are 5 preset settings ranging from 356F to 428F with the last setting being remembered next time the unit is operated. Once the Pulsar APX has reached your desired temperature you should wait another 30 seconds for the material to fully heat. This is most likely due to the convection nature of the chamber. A good starting temperature for herb is around 374F or 392F, but feel free to experiment.
